rfmcdonald- I checked my marks and I didn't do too badly--86% in British History 261, 90% in American History 391. I haven't gotten my Canadian History mark yet, nor my paper in that course--I'll have to E-mail Dr. Moran.
- I had a meeting with Dr. MacLaine on the Surfacing component of the paper. In many ways, it's the most divergent of the three novels, but I'd some cross-connections already and we came up with some more. Plus, the lunacy of early 1970's-vintage Canadian nationalism: we're on the United States' periphery in one way, Cambodia and Indochina are on the United States' periphery in another way, therefore the US is about to bomb Canada. That debased Maoism is fun.
- I feel satisfied with my academic achievements this semester. This is good.
