I've a post up at Demography Matters that makes the very important point that naive comparisons between populations in different regions--there, I start from a comparison of the levels of integration of Muslims in the United States and Europe--will inevitably be partial and incomplete, if not fatally flawed, if you don't take note of the fact that different poplations comprise numerous sub-populations with widly divergent characteristics.
