My house overlooks the West end of Crossrail, the Royal Oak portal where the trains actually go underground - it's about 80 yards north of me. Unfortunately there's not going to be a lot to see since they're still in a cutting at that point and don't get to the surface for a couple of hundred yards. Living so close does mean that I got to see quite a lot of the early stages going on, including some of the industrial archaeology and the big tunnel boring machines moving in.
