I still have Norton, vol. 1, from a course on Renaissance literature I took in 1976. I was just looking at it a day or two ago.

I never had the Norton Anthology, despite an MA in English, and I always found survey anthologies to be awkwardly halfway between really good scholarly editions and simple reading copies.
