My contribution to yesterday's Look for a Moment photo post was the photo above, taken inside the recently renovated Dufferin subway station. I quite like the look of Dufferin, actually: it looks wonderfully cathedral, and colourful, especially compared to its previous incarnation.

Dec. 15th, 2012 06:15 pmA post last night at Torontoist let me know that the ongoing renovations at Dufferin Station has progressed to the point that some of the new tiles put in place at track level--the ones at the western end of the westbound platform--are visible to the public.

Oct. 19th, 2009 11:31 amAmazingly, even my mom with her extensive horticultural knowledge couldn't identify this short red-leafed tree. It's Terran, I know, but wouldn't it be cool if it was a Heidelsheimater umbrella tree taken all the way from the Rho Eridani system by Freihafener merchants who managed to sneak it past Orbital Quarantine Control?

St. Francis of Assisi, famed patron of the birds among other animals, was here leaning somewhat in a front yard on Dufferin Street. He still looked happy, regardless.
