After running some errands in the late afternoon I found myself wandering through the west-end neighbourhoods of Carleton Village and Earlscourt, wandering north up Symington Avenue to Davenport Road and then heading east. It was a warm afternoon, barely below freezing point, and the clean white snow was falling down lightly.

Feb. 27th, 2019 07:10 amThe warm weather we've been having--much too warm for Toronto in February--has seen much of the snow that has come down melt away. What remained reminded me of some of the terrains of the outer solar system, of icy worlds like Callisto or Titan with terrains made of water ice as hard as rock in their cryogenic temperatures.
